Darrin is married to Christina, has a son named Dylan, and hails from Spencer, Indiana, where he has lived his whole life. With a passion for the outdoors, old Mopars, and guns, Darrin's true love lies in archery. With almost 30 years of experience in competing in tournaments and 23 years as a pro shooter, Darrin has a wealth of knowledge to share.
In this episode, we dive into Darrin's background and his start in archery, including his journey in making his own bows. We also discuss whether he prioritizes hunting or tournaments, and reminisce about his first tournament and his first animal taken with a bow. Darrin shares valuable insights on skills he has picked up along the way, including paper and bare shaft tuning, arrow tuning, and fletch shaft paper tuning. We also explore fixing poor bare shaft flight, the importance of consistency and confidence in success, and the differences between micro shafts and normal shafts. Darrin also shares his experience in switching from right-handed to left-handed shooting.
